What Is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan? when was it started?
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign started by the Government of India.
To make that clean India, it was the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birthday. On 2nd October 2014, the Swachh Bharat mission was launched. The campaign aimed to achieve the vision of ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019.
The campaign was started in Rajghat, New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself took a broom and cleaned a road.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national-level campaign by the Government of India covering 4041 statutory towns to clean the streets, roads, and infrastructure of the country.
Why Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Was Launched?
Swacch Bharat Mission (SBM) was launched in 2014 to fulfill the vision of a ‘Clean India’. The mission aims to cover all the rural and urban areas of the country to present this country as an ideal country before the world.
