Why was Hemant Soren Arrested?

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president and current Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren has been arrested by the Enforcement (ED) in a money launder case, regarding land scams. The CM is in custody under ED and might submit his resignation. Possible chances of Champai Soren or Kalpana Soren to be the next CM of Jharkhand.

The ED officials had reached out to Soren’s house in Delhi on Monday for investigation and seized two cars and 36 Lakhs but were unable to find the CM.

Earlier in the day Mr Soren had filed a case against senior officers of the enforcement directorate Ranchi office under the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe act in connection with Monday’s operation.

In his complaint, the JMM leader who belongs to the scheduled tribe stated that the action harassed his entire community. Soren also said that he was not the owner of the BMW and the cash and an agency has leaked some misinformation.
